Attentive staff, amazing fresh food, accommodating to allergies, light and fresh atmosphere. Only grip would be not prompting for a card tip, who carries cash anymore. Will return when next over this way! Highly recommended...

A Gem Of A Find Whilst in holiday in the area, I booked a table for my wife’s birthday, having read great reviews for High Street Kitchen. We were greeted by Maddy, who sat us at a very nice table and was attentive in the right measure. We both chose the Sirloin steak and had cauliflower cheese as an extra dish. Our meals were served personally by the chef Gavin and Maddie, which was a lovely touch as diners don’t usually get the opportunity to meet the chef. The steaks were of very good quality & sizeable, cooked to perfection and so full of flavour. As we couldn’t decide which dessert to have, Gavin suggested a trio, which was too good an opportunity to turn down. Yet again, everything was perfect and special mention for the excellent banana souffle made by son Adam. All in all we had a wonderful and memorable night and hats off to Gavin, Adam and Maddie. I just wish we lived nearer! Would certainly recommend as ‘farm to fork’ food with quality ingredients as you’d expect.

Just been for a three course lunch. The food was incredible. Skate in a creamy sauce to start, long cooked lamb with mash, broccoli puree and grilled hispi cabbage with a rich jus. The best strawberry Pavlova I’ve ever eaten followed by coffee. Amazing service from the front of house queen Laura and we got to meet Gavin the chef/owner who is impeccably trained. We are on holiday but will come back to Lymington solely to eat here again. I really cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. If you look at other reviews you will see that this isn’t an isolated occurrence. There really isn’t anything not to like. I urge you to try it.

So happy that Lymington has this fresh and exciting restaurant. The chef clearly values food taste and texture and all the dishes had layers of flavour. The steak was so completely divine I cannot stop raving about it to friends. The fish was fresh and excellent. A very sensory friendly restaurant as the music was not too loud, the ambience was nice and the restaurant was not bustling. The staff where so sweet ,professional and knowledgeable. The wine was excellent and there various options with different tasting notes which satisfied even for the fussiest. It does not feel like another chain samey restaurant it is nice to know that a place like this is a local option for dining out. My one complaint is that the chips were not very nice and I could not finish them and the side salad could have been more exciting.

A delightful experience. Owner and head chef, Gavin Barnes, met us before the meal and explained his ethos of using the best ingredients, and where possible sourced locally. He will not compromise on quality. Gavin trained under and has worked alongside some of the greatest chefs in the business and this manifests in the dishes he delivers. If you enjoy really good food I cannot recommend the Highstreet Kitchen enough. Treat yourself.

Beautiful. Came over from Spain at the weekend to take my Nan here for her birthday. Spoke to the chef before going that week and asked what would be on the menu and he said depending on the day as we get everything locally, which I thought was fab and even better. Made the booking on Saturday and I must say we both really enjoy it, the seating are atmosphere, staff and the food was amazing and good portion and beautifully presented. I will be sure going back again when I return to the UK. Thank you so much.

Fantastic lunch spot. The service was spot-on. Attentive but not intrusive. Very warm and welcoming without over-doing it. And the food, oh my. The food was out of this world. The most tender chicken, the dept of flavours on the gravy, the sweetness of the cabbage... just phenomenal! My wife had the steak w/ asparagus and garlic butter and it did not disappoint. The portion size is veery generous and all the garnishes and fixings were delicious. We’ve had worse in proper steakhouses local to us. The fact that only the best local produce is being served and all the love and passion invested really shows. Do yourself a favour and have a look at the wine on offer and ask for advice if you need to. Both great new world and old world options that will cater for everyone. This was a party of 4 that just walked up without booking and the team said yes with a big smile. Thank you all for our great lunch. Memories were made around that table.

Cosy, quaint and easy to see why it's so popular with the locals. A tasty Lounges breakfast with excellent coffee .. really hit the spot. The home made carrot cake followed and took freshness to a new level. Great service came as standard. Visiting Lymington?.. don't miss a visit to Lounges
